SADNESS ABOUT THE EYES
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor. 12:9
Behold a face, study it well,
Each one has a story to tell,
Of sorrow, pain, and sighs,
Of frowns, groans, and sadness about the eyes.
Pain has a ministry all its own,
How sweetly its seed are sown,
Afflictions, God's blessings in disguise,
Though pain may cause sadness about the eyes.
Grace sufficient, every hour,
God supplying his power.
Suffering has its own prize,
Though sadness about the eyes.
See the face nobly set,
Providence causes no regret.
Peace prevails about the face,
Sadness about the eyes mingled with God's grace.
